Rooted in Tradition, Growing in Gratitude A Sacred Bond Between Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School and the Shaolin Temple

03/11/2025

I am proud to say that as a Shaolin institute, we are able to repay the Temple now!!!

In January, right before the Chinese New Year, Master Wei and I went to the Shaolin Temple. The purpose of this trip is to give the prepared festival supporting to the respected Master and our shaolin brothers. In Chinese culture, bring gifts to elders is part of the festival customs. We call this “song nian(送年)”. We choose 2 kinds of organic nutritious dried mushrooms, and bring 12 boxes for each. In this way they can have it every month.

As an international Shaolin Kung Fu school, we hold a deep reverence for the rich traditions and teachings of Shaolin culture. Master Wei (Shi Yan Jia), a disciple of the esteemed abbot of Shaolin Temple, embodies the spirit of this ancient lineage.

In 2024, we organize 3 pilgrimage trips for our international students to visit the legendary Shaolin Temple. Our students also get the chance to meet their “master’s master”. During these pilgrimages, our students have the unique opportunity to experience the serene environment of the temple, engage in meditation, and witness the profound wisdom of Shaolin teachings firsthand. These experiences are not only transformative for our students but also serve to strengthen our connection with the temple and its heritage. It is a journey that is both spiritually enriching and culturally significant. Here is our student’s writing about the pilgrimage trip.Return to the Shaolin Temple for pilgrimage Master Wei bring 20 of our students from 13 countries for a Shaolin Tour_Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School

I can trulyfeel that the Abbot treat us very kindly in a parenting way. He asked our student one after another: where are you from? how long you learnt Shaolin Kung Fu? As we go more and more, we always ask ourselves what we can give back? This time we take a small action. We feel giving is far more abundant than taking. We  make the decision to keep it as an annual activity.

We believe that these acts of devotion and respect are essential in fostering a deeper understanding of Shaolin culture among our students. By participating in these pilgrimages, our students not only learn about martial arts but also embrace the values of humility, respect, and compassion that are central to the Shaolin philosophy.

We invite our past and future students to join us on this extraordinary journey, where you will not only enhance your martial arts skills but also immerse yourself in the profound spiritual heritage of Shaolin. Together, let us honor the traditions of the past while forging a path for the future.

Join us in this unique experience and become part of our Shaolin family. Embrace the teachings, honor the traditions, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. We look forward to welcoming you to our school and sharing this incredible journey together.
